Women’s Health Academy
Due to an increasing demand for women’s health care in the Primary care setting, we are delighted to announce the launch of – in collaboration between the Public Health Team, Sexual Health team and the Gynaecology department – Women’s Health Academy.
Women’s Health Academy will provide comprehensive training in women’s health, while focusing on the main topics of the Scottish Government Women’s Health Plan:
– Menstrual Health
– Menopause
– Contraception
By completing modules within this course, the aim will be for trainees to run their own clinics in all aspects of women’s health independently, supported by a network of specialist support within secondary care. They will also have the opportunity to become women’s health champions in their area/ practice, and will support the continuation of learning/ training of other practitioners.
The training modules will be available for all NHS Ayrshire and Arran primary care clinicians who have an interest in Women’s health, including GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, and Clinical Pharmacists. However, priority may be given to candidates who are from areas of need and/or under-provision of women’s health care.
Funding is available to cover some of the course fees and study time sessions.
If you are interested or have any enquiries please contact Dr Reham Elsbar – reham.elsaber@aapct.scot.nhs.uk
Suitable candidates will be invited for an informal interview via Teams and successful candidates will be offered an opportunity in the first phase of the training. We will add information on the next phase of the training here in due course.
